May 29, 2005 15:29 - Toy Recall, New Leap Frog Educational Toys, and The Importance of Playtime

Beware, parents !This month, there were three toys being recalled. Two of them are Fisher-Price toys, Grow-to-Pro Pogo Stick and a push toy - Lil' Wagster Dragster . These two toys were recalled because they have caused injuries on some children. The third toy is the Lemon Meringuewooden push toy from Pamela Drake which was recalled because of the choking hazard. Anybody who have those toys are urged to return them to the manufacturer or the store they got those from for a full refund. You can read more about child toy safety here .

But, the report from the International Play Association (UK) says that modern children are at risk of play malnutrition because of over-organized lifestyles and a fear of getting dirty. The chairman says that children need to engage in 3 types of play : creative play, physical play and imaginative play.
