Children love dolls and stuffed animals. In fact, you can say that dolls and stuffed animals are children's best friends. Yup, these toys are important part of their lives and their importance cannot be underestimated. Do you remember how Laura cried and cried during the trip to Chicago after she accidently left her 'Marianne' at home ? Or do you remember how Johny became upset for a long time after he lost his dinosaur in the local park ?
As a parent you may want your children to have dolls or stuffed animals which they love and treasure for years to come. But before buying these, I suggest you to make sure that the doll and stuffed animal that your children are going to buy are age-appropriate and conform to the safety standards. Secondly, if you are an ethnic parent, you may also want to buy dolls which are more culturally sensitive and look like your daughter/son.
Ironically, despite of the rise of multiculturalism in the US, finding ethnic dolls in local toy stores can still a bit tricky. And the search for this kind of dolls is not getting easier even in the neighborhood where more than half of the residents are from ethnic background.

During the months of December 2005 and January 2006, there has been several recalls on baby and children products including toys.
Here is the list:
And finally, there is a warning for parents who own Magnetix, a magnetized building set. A two-year-old boy from Washington state swallowed pieces of this building set and died. Since this building set is actually intended for older children, this product is not recalled. However, keep this product out of reach of younger siblings.
