Who we are

Hi ! My name is Dian, and I live in Houston, TX. I have two kids, one boy and one girl.

Where we came from

You may know why I created this website if you read my homepage.

But this is the whole story.

My son was born shortly after we moved to Texas. That time, I recall, was a quite stressful time for us. Prior to moving, I literally had a sleep-deprivation for almost a month because I was in the middle of writing up my PhD theses which I fortunately finished just two days prior to the moving day. Once arrived in Texas, I had to start my new job, rent an apartment, bought a car, finding prenatal care for myself, signing up on prenatal class, buying furnitures and countless of little hassles associated with moving.

On top of that, we had to buy baby stuff, since we haven't bought anything for the baby prior to moving.

Finally, when the baby arrived (2 weeks earlier than the due date), everything was there, except for: THE BABY TOYS.

The next few weeks following the baby's birth were spent on getting to know our baby, breastfeeding and adjusting ourselves to the new baby. At that period, my husband started his graduate study, so that was a difficult time for us.

As a result, we didn't pay a lot of attention on baby toys at all. We bought his first rattle plus other common baby toys at the local superstore. In addition, we got a couple of gift too.

At that time, we didn't even know that it's best to get baby the toys which have bright colors, etc. Now when I looked at the toys I bought earlier, I thought .. what a waste !!

I know my situation was rather unique, because I was under a lot of stress prior to having the baby. But, I think that there must be a lot of mom out there, who are having a hectic life and don't have time to think about which toys to get for their children.

That is why www.best-child-toys.com was born. I want to help busy parents to choose the best child toys and games.

It has been online since April 2004 and I've been adding new stuff periodically.

Where we are going

I guess no website can be defined as complete. Websites will always grow and grow. And this is what I am hoping for best-child-toys.com.

I am hoping that my website will grow over time, will attract more visitors and can offer whatever the visitors want us to offer.

I am hoping that in the future, this website can be a one-stop place for parents looking for guidance to select toys and games.
