Bath Toy Storage Ideas
and Recommendation

Wonder how you are going to store those duckies ? Wonder no more. You will find tips for bath toy storage and our recommendation for a tub toy storage system in this page.

There are basically two ways to store the tub toys:

.

Using a Mesh Bath Toy Bag to Store Bath Toys

Mesh bath toy bags are basically bags made from nylon mesh with zip, and can be hung on the bathroom wall using suction cups. The advantage of using a mesh bath toy bag over a bath toy bin for organizing the tub toys is that it doesn't require a lot of space. When you have only a few toys, then the whole thing will only occupy a little bit of space. In contrast, when using a bath toy bin or basket, no matter how many toys you have, this bath toy storage system will occupy the same amount of space. However, some people find it annoying to have to zip and unzip the bag during the storing process.

Most of the bath toy bags come cheap at around $5 each. However, good bath toy bags are hard to come by. Basically, when it comes to a bath toy storage bag, customers mainly complain about two things:

  • It does not dry fast and becomes a source of mildew.
  • Either the suction cups do not work at all, or they are so weak they can only hold a small amount of bath toys.

In order to get a good quality one, unfortunately, you need to shell out more than $5. There are two mesh bath toy bags available which have received good reviews because they are mildew resistant, are expandable and have suction cups which work. However, they cost more (in the region of $20).

The first recommended mesh bath toy bag is the Skip Hop Tubby Bath Toy Organizer
Features:

  • Fast drying and does not cause mildew build up.
  • The suction cups work very well.
  • It can hold large amount of bath toys, even if they weigh 6 lbs.
  • The storage net itself stretches to accomodate large amount of bath toys.
  • The storage net can be taken off from the suction cups for washing.
  • Easy access to toys.
  • The two hooks sitting on top of the toy storage net can be used for hanging wash clothes, rags, and so forth.
These bath toy storage bags are available in blue and orange and can be bought here

The second one, is the cute Shanda! Bath Toy Organizer.
Features:

  • Mildew resistant bath toy storage net.
  • The net stretches so it can accomodate large amount of toys.
  • Two choices for installing the tub toy storage bag: by strong suction cups, or by velcro paws which can curl over bath tub towel bar or shower rod
  • Innovative kid-friendly release at the bottom of the net that sends toys tumbling into the water
  • Kid-friendly or cute design; it centers upon the character of Shanda the Kangaroo which holds the storage net.
  • Wins Dr. Toy 2009 Best Vacation Award for "Play and Learn",
It currently is only available here.

Using Bath Toy Bin, Basket or Pod to Store Bath Toys

Bath toy bin, basket or pod is another bath toy storage system that you can use. Although it takes more space and rigid (you can have only have that much toys inside it), bath toy bins are definitely sturdier than most mesh toy bags.

A very simple system to store tub toys is by using a bath toy basket. This is basically a tray with draining holes, which can be put on two sides of the bath tub. So the tray basically flanks the bath tub and it's very easy to attach and remove.

Bath toy basket is proved to be simple, yet an effective way to store bath toys and other bath supplies. There is no need to monkey around the suction cups (because there aren't any). You just have to be aware of the dimension of the bath toy basket so you can be sure it fits your bath tub.

KidCo makes one of these and their bath toy storage basket has these following features:

  • Adjustable length
  • Fits most bath tubs
  • Contains adjustable divider panels to separate toys from bath care items
It's available here .

Another cute and popular design of a bath toy storage unit is called Boon Frog Pod Toy Storage, which is a toy, drain, and storage unit designed to simplify cleanup during bath time. The whole unit can be attached to any shower or bath tub wall. The frog base is actually a removable scoop which can detach from the whole unit. You can put and rinse off bath toys in frog base, and then put scoop with the toys in it back to the unit and leave them to hang. The fingers and toes are can be used to hang accessories and the non-detachable hidden shelf provides a convenient space for shampoo and other bath products. Although it's been very popular, unfortunately there are two potential problems associated with it:

  • The sticky tapes don't work universally well in all bath room, so the frog may keep falling down. The company respond by suggesting these following:
    • Customers should avoid grout lines or indentation of their bathroom tiles when installing the frog.
    • Make sure the tiles are clean.
    • Use suction cups instead of tapes to install the frog.
    • If all else fail, the frog can be installed by the use of screw.

  • Although it's reasonably big, there are only that much toys you can squeeze inside the froggie. But if your children don't have that many bath toys, this aspect is minor. Plus, it looks cute, too.

This adorable frog is available here.

Therefore, one important tip for choosing a bath toy storage system is to see how many bath toys your child has and find a system which can contain all the bath toys. Happy shopping !
