Children travel toys are one important ingredient of an enjoyable and non-stressful family trip. Without them, children can be bored and become whinny.

I found that a good selection of preschool travel toys is hard to find locally, and mind you, I live in a big city. Therefore, I tend to just go shopping on the internet to get this kind of toys. You may want to look at it and decide whether this children travel toy is worth buying. In addition, for a more fun coloring activity, you may want to get A Bumpity Coloring Book. This set comes with a coloring book, crayon and rubbing plates with a variety of fun patterns. The end result is a picture which will 'pop up' and has both textures and nice patterns.

  Traveling With Kids store has a good selection of invisible pen activity books from Lee Publication which prove to be very popular for entertaining kids during long travel. Your preschooler will enjoy invisible pen activity books, such as: Magic Mazes, Disney Cars Invisible Ink and Magic Pen, Disney Princess Magic Pen & Invisible Ink, Finding Nemo , and Dot to Dot. If you have a young preschooler, we think that the most suitable invisible pen book set is is Dot to Dot.

  • Magnetic toys for imaginative play. These children travel toys contain of cute magnets and several different scenes for imaginative play.   • Magnetic Pattern Blocks by Melissa and Doug, designed specifically for travel.
  • Dress up or mix-and-match magnetic toys. Your preschoolers will love to dress up princesses or dolls with different 'magnetic' dresses. Alaternatively, if your preschooler is Mr. Potato Head's fans, then s/he can create different kinds of Mr. Potato Head with Mr. Potato Head's mix-and-match magnetic toys.

In addition to what we recommend above, your preschooler may enjoy magnetic construction toys such as:

• Jumbonetics, a "jumbo" magnetic construction set which is suitable for young children. The pieces don't pose a choking hazard and are easy to grab by little hands since each piece has reasonably big size.
