Recommendation For Toddler Travel Toys
And Where to Get Them

When you are traveling with your toddler, what can be better than toddler travel toys to keep your toddler entertained during the trip ?

The question is, what kind of toy you should buy to entertain toddlers during the trip, and where you can get these kinds of toys from.

I have scurried over the internet to find the best toddler travel toys, and here are my recommendation of the kind of toys you can bring to entertain your toddler on-the-go. But before you get those, I recommend you to get also a car seat table or travel tray, like Snack & Play Travel Tray or Taby Tray which can be attached to your toddler's car seat. Not only this car seat table will make the feeding and drinking time easier. The travel table can also be used to put the toddler travel games and toys which will entertain and keep your toddler from feeling bored during the trip. :

• Young toddlers (12-24 month old)
• Older toddlers (24-36 month old)

NOTE: If you have three year old kids or older, go over to our preschool children travel toys for a more appropriate recommendation.

Getting appropriate travel toys for young toddler is quite a challenge since most of the travel toys are geared towards preschoolers and school-age children. Nevertheless, for this age group we can recommend the following toddler travel toys:

• board books to look at.
  
  
• etch the sketch or magna doodle for scribbling activity.
• stuffed animal.
  
  
• buckle toy. Buckle toys are stuffed animals which have 3-5 buckles surrounding their stomach. If you have a toddler, you might notice that your toddlers are often fascinated with buttons, buckles, zippers and velcros. All my children love those things and can spend a long time in this kind of activities. So, what is better than handing your toddler a stuffed animal with a few buckle belts surrounding its stomach ? This simple toy can entertain your toddler for a long time during travel. A young toddler may just do the matching activities with the belt and hug the stuffed animal. As your toddler gets a bit older, she then can start buckling the belt and then unbuckle it. So this toy will certainly grow with your toddler. • any small activity toys which can be held by your child, for instance Switching Gears Activity Toy or any busy block toy available from Genius Babies. .
  
  
• Magnetic wooden puzzle with big pieces. I particularly like Magnetic ABC Book, available at Genius Babies. because it is designed like a real book (only it's wooden) and is sturdy and attractive. This book consists of 26 puzzle spots. Your toddler will have fun matching each puzzle piece into its correct spot. Since it's magnetic, it won't scatter all over while your toddler is working on it. Just make sure that you have a plastic ziplock bag to contain all the puzzle pieces.

When traveling, older toddler may enjoy these toddler travel toys:

• Board books.
  
  
• Etch the sketch or magna doodle.
  
  
• Stuffed animal.
  
  
• Buckle Toy. As explained above, buckle toys are stuffed animals which, depending to the size, have 3-5 buckles surrounding their stomach. Toddlers can spend a long time in buckling and unbuckling activities, so this toy can keep your toddler busy and (hopefully) quiet during travel. • Toddler magnetic wooden puzzle mentioned above (Magnetic ABC Book, available at Genius Babies.).
  You may also want to try more advanced magnetic wooden puzzle: Tow Away Puzzle, Fishing Game Puzzle, and Bug Catching Puzzle.
  Although these puzzles are not more difficult cognitively, these wooden puzzles require more dexterity since the child is supposed to pick the magnetic puzzle pieces using either the tow, the bug catcher net or the fishing pole which come with the puzzles. These puzzles also have smaller pieces, for instance the fishing pole magnetic pieces, so supervision is a must for under three users.
  
  
• Jumbonetics by International Playthings which is basically a magnetic building set which has big pieces so that it's suitable for toddler.
  
  
• Magnetic build-your-own truck activities like Valtech Working Trucks
  NOTE: This set has small pieces, so supervise your toddler when playing with this.
  
  
• Pasting activities, such as Totally Tape . If you want, you can always make your own 'totally tape'activity by providing your toddler paper and colorful tapes. You can also provide him with sticker and paper for more pasting activities or buy sticker books like these..
  
  
• And if your older toddler has good dexterity, you may want to try to get coloring books and crayons to get him entertained during the journey. You may want to get one designed specifically for traveling like Color Scroller which contains coloring books and crayons in one compact set to minimizing the scattering during travel. Or Crayon Rubbing Set which comes with a coloring book, crayon and rubbing plates with a variety of fun patterns
