Travel games and toys are two things you must bring during your travel with kids if you don't want to hear the famous phrase "Are we there yet ?" uttered again and again like a broken record. However, it can be difficult to find and choose the fun travel games and toys for your kids.

So what are the kind of games and toys suitable for travel ?

The following are the criteria of good travel games or toys:

• fun and entertaining.
• as compact as possible so that these toys can be played in limited space.
• light.
• don't easily cause a mess in 'non-stationary position'. It means that you should try to get travel toys with as few pieces as possible. Or, the toy pieces have to be magnetized to enable them to stick to a surface.
• quiet, especially if it's going to be played in the airplane.
• for night trip where the light is limited, you may want to consider buying travel games or toys with 'glow in the dark' feature.

In addition, it is best to consider where you are going to bring the toys and buy only the most suitable toy for that condition, that is whether you want to bring them in the airplane or in the car.

What I recommend

Before I recommend toys, I'd like to mention that in order for your small children to play comfortably in a car, it is important to install a small table on their car seat. If you are going to fly, then you don't need to do that because your child will have a small table in front of him to put his travel games and toys.
